Welcome to Online Orientation! So, what is myBPCC anyway? myBPCC is the name of the learning management system (LMS) that delivers your online/internet course(s). myBPCC uses the software Canvas to deliver your courses.

This orientation does not replace other mandatory class orientations. Please refer to your course section syllabi for additional course orientations.

Learning Objectives

Identify the login page for your Canvas courses.
Describe the features the user and course dashboard features including the global navigation area, the dashboard area, and the sidebar.
Locate the account settings areas and name the areas that you can personalize.
Select the Profile area and describe how to add a profile picture.
Select the Settings area and describe how to add an email and text (SMS) contact method.
Select the Notifications area and describe how to select your notification preferences.
Describe the different methods of communication in Canvas: announcements, discussions, and inbox.
Explain the methods to access your courses from the Courses screen and from the Dashboard screen.
Describe how to submit work via Assignments, Discussions, and Quizzes.
Explain the features of the Grades section.
List the methods to get help with Canvas.
Retrieve videos that explain how to use the Canvas mobile app on various mobile devices.
